Estate papers include inventories of the estates of Henry Mott, 1782, Adam Mott, 1790, and Daniel Hewlett, 1819; wills, court records and other papers from the estates of Thomas Hewlett, James A. Hewlett, Mary E. (Sanderson) Hewlett and Anna S. (Hewlett) Hand, 1841-1935. Bills, receipts and accounts, mostly of Thomas Hewlett, for food, supplies, and rental of horses and farmlands; letters to Hewlett or Mrs. Thomas Hewlett concerning shingling, painting and other repairs to the house, 1830's and '40's; letters and accounts of Thomas Hewlett as county wreckmaster, salvaging ships wrecked along Rockaway Beach; tax records and teacher contracts for District 15, Town of Hempstead, 1830's; and records of the town highway commissioners.
